A Running List of Some of Our Favorite Tools
Start with a Scale:
A gram scale is used for almost all brewing methods. Using a scale keeps your brew consistent, and allows you to make educated adjustments to your brewing. This one also has a timer for when you’re pulling shots manually or brewing a pour over.
Kettles:
Bodum Gooseneck Kettle: A gooseneck kettle is used for pour overs, but can also be used for french press and Aeropress beginner (heats to boiling temp).
Advanced (temp adjustment controls), for more precise brewing adjustments
Grinders:
A Timemore Hand Grinder is a great way to start out, rather than making a huge investment into an electric grinder.
A Timemore Sculptor Electric Grinder is a great grinder if you’re pulling just a few shots in the morning. Also can be used as a stand alone grinder for other brew methods.
Espresso....
Breville Barista Express comes with everything you need to start making great espresso at home. No need to buy a separate grinder, the built-in one gets fine enough to make adjustments when needed. The only thing missing from the set is a milk steaming pitcher!
Advanced Home Espresso set ups do great with the Fellow Espresso Series 1
Pour Over Favorites
Hario Ceramic V60 :We love ceramic because if pre-warmed, it will keep your water from cooling down as your coffee extracts
Or you can brew straight into your cup with Hario Glass Coffee Carafe
Drip
If you’re constantly brewing more than one cup, or brewing for a group, a batch brew would work. We like the Fellow Aiden.
